Mission Accomplished at Casselberry Care Cabin

Christian HELP is a part of the Casselberry Community Task Force, a group that banded together this time in 2011 in response to a 60 Minutes broadcast highlighting the plight of hungry and homeless children in our community's school. From there, the Task Force established the Casselberry Care Cabin, which many of you support, at Casselberry Elementary School.

Over the past several years, Casselberry Elementary has gone from a C Grade to an A Grade school and its students and their families have received thousands of food packages from the Care Cabin. In addition, the Care Cabin has provided clothing, financial assistance, and partnered some students with mentors.

Moving forward, we are grateful for the expanding vision and resources that the Casselberry Police Benevolent Association can bring to further this project that Christian HELP has helped to start. Christian HELP, along with the rest of the Task Force, will be passing the torch to the Casselberry Police to serve the community through the Care Cabin. We are so grateful for the opportunity to serve the community in this way and thank you for your support of the Care Cabin.

If you currently support the Care Cabin financially through Christian HELP, would you please consider shifting your support to one of Christian HELP's programs that prevent homelessness in our community through employment resources and material and spiritual support?

Helpful Details:
To prepare yourself for this job fair, please prepare a "one minute commercial" about yourself stating your strong points, skills, and education.
Dress your best! We can not stress this enough. Professional / business attire is expected by hiring employers. The job market is still very competitive, and it is important that you get your game on! First impressions and your preparation are keys to your success. Keep a positive attitude and concentrate on the benefits of the experience.

Indulge your curiosity - talk to all the companies you normally would not be interested in.  Meet with as many people as you can. Take your time and be patient. Be sure to visit all of the exhibiting companies!

Remember to follow up with applications, phone calls, interviews, and resumes after the job fair. Recruiters are still hiring job seekers from the job fair days after the job fair event is over - this I when employers are busy reviewing resumes, paper and online applications, making phone calls, and interviewing for a couple weeks after the job fair has ended. So follow up, follow up, and follow up!

Thank you for your valuable time and see you at the job fair, unless of course you accept a job before then!

We believe the best way to find a job is to have help. If you are job searching after the job fair, then you may visit our office for one on one job search assistance, job training, résumé' assistance, and a food pantry if needed. Our main office number is 407.834.4022407.834.4022.

Blessings on your job search!

Sincerely,
Central Florida Employment Council (CFEC) Team

Do You Remember Chris?

Alan Feinstein Will Gladly Add His Money to Yours!

500 = $1,000 providing the electricity to keep our food fresh!
100 = $200 filling the gas tank of two vans to collect food!
60 = $120 feeding two families of four for a month!
Just 15 = $30 feeding two families of four for a week!
Greetings!

Spring Matching $1 Million Challenge!

Thank YOU to those who have already given to our Spring Matching Campaign.
We are nearly half way to our goal of $50,000 for March!
The Feinstein Foundation along with a small group of generous donors are matching every gift made in in the next 44 days dollar for dollar!
Every year, the Feinstein Foundation gives away $1 Million to anti-hunger agencies like Christian HELP! The $1 Million is distributed based on the amount of donations we receive during March and April only! Several people have already offered to match any donations made in March and April and the more money you give, the more of the $1 Million we will receive.

Remember Chris?

Remember Chris, who you heard about in our last email? He is performing excellently in his job and was so thankful for the services he received from Christian HELP, that he donated a Publix gift card to benefit our clients. His donation will benefit the job seekers that will come after him.

Chris is like many of our clients who choose to give back to Christian HELP out of hearts of gratitude after they get back on their feet. We are so humbled by their generosity when just weeks before they may have felt down and out. Chris' generosity shows that the people that walk through our doors truly are just in need of a help up and aren't looking for a hand out.

"In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" Acts 20:35

Sincerely,

Jackie Normand
