The Meaning of a Tennis Ball
|
Man y years ago, Mary
and her family came to Christian HELP after her husband lost his job and
her medical bills were too much for her family to handle. At that time,
Mary and her husband's two boys were very young. While they were waiting
to receive food from our pantry, we gave them each a tennis ball to play
with.
Today, Mary and her family are doing
very well. They have since started their own business and are back on
their feet! Mary stopped by Christian HELP just a few days ago to share
her story with me and to give back to the Ministry. She said, "You
know what my boys remember about Christian HELP? The tennis balls you
gave them to play with. They
are 22 and 26 now and they still have those tennis balls to this day!"
Such a small, simple gesture, like giving Mary's two boys
tennis balls to keep them entertained, can have a profound impact on a
person's life. To Mary's two boys, those tennis balls are no longer just
a toy. They represent a time of trail for their family, a time of
uncertainty, and a time of hope through a small hand up that is made possible by supporters like
YOU!
